Terrano MT

MIX FLAT – LOOSEN DEEPLY

The Terrano MT  cultivator is specially designed for the application area “mix up, loosen up” . The cultivator has a central chassis and a 4-bar structure (2 rows of discs + 2 rows of tines). It is particularly suitable for working on heavy soils that have to be loosened deeply, but on which crop residues can only be mixed in shallowly so as not to transport coarse soil to the surface.
The 2-row DiscSystem enables shallow and intensively mixing soil cultivation and blockage-free work even with difficult residues and large amounts of straw. The DiscSystem generates a lot of fine soil and the working depth can be continuously adjusted hydraulically.
This is followed by a 2-bar tine system . This is relatively easy to pull thanks to the large line spacing of 40 cm and the 40 mm narrow LD (low disturbance) shares.
In the first two rows of the Terrano MT there is a disc harrow followed by two rows of TerraGrip tines with narrow LD (low disturbance) shares. The HORSCH SteelDisc packer is used as a packer for maximum reconsolidation .
It enables intensive loosening up to a depth of 30 cm with little mixing effect. As a result, coarse soil is hardly transported to the surface and the disc harrow horizon is driven under. The new Ultra LD sharesreinforce this effect. They break up the ground and no longer convey clods to the top.
Its central chassis ensures the Terrano MT superior maneuverability on the headland and very good driving characteristics on the road. In damp conditions, for example, the chassis can also be used for depth control – this means that less weight is transferred to the packer. This is for maximum reconsolidation of the HORSCH SteelDisc Packer with a diameter of 58 cm and a weight of 175 kg / m working width . It is also suitable for the heaviest soils and its packer elements leave a good soil structure. The Terrano MT also has two effective double rollers. The Double RollFlex can do thisor RollPack packer .

What distinguishes the Terrano MT?

  • A combination of compact disc harrow and 2-bar cultivator
  • Mix shallow and loosen deeply
  • Manoeuvrable thanks to the central chassis
  • DiscSystem can be adjusted independently of the working depth of the tines
  • TerraGrip tines in the third and fourth rows
  • SteelDisc packer also for heavy soils

HORSCH milestone – farming without a plow

In the 30-year company tradition HORSCH of conservation tillage helped like no other manufacturers to break through. In 2013, it received the Agricultural Engineering Milestone Award . Many products, such as the Terrano, Tiger and Joker models and, last but not least, the Pronto DC universal seed drill, enable ploughless arable farming at the highest level. According to the Federal Statistical Office, 40 percent of arable land is now cultivated without a plow. With wheat it is even 60 percent. Twenty years ago no one dared believe it. HORSCH played a major role in making it this far. Against this background, milestones in agricultural engineering will continue to emerge in the future.

BASIC EQUIPMENT

TerraGrip

ROBUST SECURITY

The TerraGrip is an extremely powerful tine with overload protection. The excavation height is 30 cm without a shear bolt being triggered. That saves time and money. The effective stone protection allows the tines to quickly evade in the event of an overload and, thanks to the spring pressure, penetrate the ground quickly and precisely – without the usual sideways movements.
The force of the spring assembly drops from 500 kg to 175 kg when swerving, which significantly reduces the force acting on the frame. The optimized spring package enables exact coulter guidance at the required working depth – even with heavy soils and large working depths. High-quality materials and large pivot points make any lubrication points unnecessary.

HORSCH

SHARE VARIANTS FOR EVERY APPLICATION

The MulchMix crowd is designed with its steep crowd angle for the intensive mixing of crop residues and the deeper processing. Due to the large radius (600 mm) of the HORSCH MulchMixShares, the soil is not pressed and its structure is retained. No matter which working depth is selected: the share is never vertical in the ground. This reduces the pulling force, protects the ground and saves valuable fuel. It achieves excellent mixing quality even with large amounts of straw. The MulchMix share consists of three components (tip, guide plate, wing) that can be changed independently of each other. The wings can be brought into a flat position for very shallow stubble cultivation and cutting off the entire surface. If the soil is to be loosened deeply and at the same time as an excellent mixture, the wings can simply be removed.

The new development HORSCH TerraCut coulter is used for flat, full-surface tillage up to a maximum depth of 8 cm. The 40 cm wide wing share is combined with the well-known LD or LD + share point and can be used on all HORSCH TerraGrip share handles. The flat setting angle of the TerraCut coulter ensures a reliable cutting effect and a low mixing effect for effective drying out of growth or catch crops.

If deep loosening is sufficient and no mixing should take place, HORSCH LD shares can be installed, which loosen up to 15 cm underground very well and do not allow large earth movements to take place.

PACKER

FOR THE BEST RESULT

HORSCH offers the right packer variant for both deep and shallow reconsolidation. The choice of packer always depends on the soil, and HORSCH offers a sensible solution for every soil type. Reconsolidation compacts excessively loose soil, smashes clods and creates an optimal environment with an optimal ratio of water- and air-carrying pores.
In addition to the SteelDisc packer with a ring spacing of 150 mm, another SteelDisc packer with a ring spacing of 200 mm is available for more flexibility in reconsolidation . The packer program is rounded off by two double packers: the double RollFlex packer and the double RollPack packer .

Why is the right packer important for your machine?

  • Central element for determining the quality of work
  • Depth guidance
  • Different reconsolidation depending on the requirements
  • Perfect work quality in wet and dry conditions
  • Suitable germination bed for volunteer grain and weeds
  • Coarse, loose soil structure in medium and heavy soils
  • Final fine-tuning of the seed horizon
